If you are old enough to remember the song alluded to above, you may well be turning 65 (if you haven’t already). And why are we talking about those of you who were born in 1959 specifically – because we need to talk Medicare!
In 2024, there are 4 million of you that are turning or have turned 65! That is the largest number of people to reach this milestone in a single year. So, let’s talk…
We all know that Medicare is confusing and yet it is important. And there are things you need to do at 65 to make sure you not only get Medicare but get the best plan for your own personal needs.
Below is a list that we have compiled to help you through the Medicare maze:
1. Get that Medicare card!
You will need Medicare A and B. Starting three months before your birthday, you can register and receive your Medicare card by going to SSA.Gov; the link is www.ssa.gov/benefits/medicare. Confused by the online system? Call us for help. We’ll get you unstuck! You can also always call for your card at 1-800-MEDICARE (1-800-633-4227) but be prepared to stay on hold.
2. Know your prescriptions!
One of the many benefits of Medicare is that a good agent can help you substantially LOWER your prescription costs.
3. List your doctors.
An agent’s job is to ensure that you can continue to see doctors you trust who know your medical history.
Still confused or have questions? No problem. We are here to help without a bunch of hype. We answer questions about Medicare plans and special programs for chronic and other conditions. You don’t have to go this alone. We will take the time to answer your questions (no commitment required). If you choose to work with us, we will help to ensure you get the right plan at the right price so that you have peace of mind.
Call Mara TODAY at 503-310-4504 for answers to your questions.
