Media Engagement and Crisis Communications
Woloshin Communications has developed relationships with Portland, regional and national media. We have extensive relationships with national trade, business, living, arts and entertainment editors and reporters and local and regional TV and radio. We also subscribe to several national web-based media databases to keep our contact information as up-to-date as possible for our clients. We have managed numerous crisis situations, from employee on-the-job injuries and deaths, to complex litigation efforts, including class action lawsuits. Our knowledge of how the media works under crisis, and our people-first philosophy has enabled our clients to be perceived as responsible corporate citizens and, when necessary to not receive coverage that could be misinterpreted by target audiences.

Event Planning
We have worked on events such as small press meetings at tradeshows, grand openings, Christmas tree lightings at retail centers and press conferences. Event coordination includes sponsorship/partnership negotiations, planning dinners, ground transportation and hotel accommodations all the way through to speaker engagements. As a small agency that is very detail oriented, we make sure that all aspects of an event are well planned and thoroughly researched. We can stand up to the challenge of arranging events from one-on-one sessions to very large group sessions, keeping in mind positive motivation of target audiences.

Communication
As a former editor for a community newspaper, and currently a regular contributor to Community Newspapers, the Pamplin Syndicate, the principal of Woloshin Communications understands the need for clear, concise messaging that begins with an overall concept and works through to all parts of the organization. In addition we have extensive experience developing meaningful copy for press releases, product descriptions for product line brochures, newsletter excerpts, company fact sheets, website announcements, position papers and customer case studies that ensures messaging is consistent through all media vehicles.

Research
Quantitative and qualitative research programs based on client needs are the backbone of our agency. For example, we can conduct customer satisfaction surveys or competitive analysis that gives you accurate, up-to-date information for solid dollar decisions.

Measurement Protocols
In order for measurement to serve as a useful tool for our clients, we move beyond the traditional approaches to media measurement – clip counting, circulation and readership analysis, advertising value equivalence. We evaluate beyond simple content analysis, message analysis, tonality analysis, prominence analysis, quality of coverage and competitive analysis – to include newer protocols. We also determine message accuracy and how effectively the media has linked messages to your communications objectives. At Woloshin Communications, if we can’t measure it, we don’t do it.
